Our Providers

Maryissa Young is a board-certified pediatric primary care nurse practitioner. She graduated

with a masters of science in nursing from the University of Michigan. Prior to her career as a

pediatric nurse practitioner she obtained her associates in nursing at Montcalm Community

College in 2015. She then proceeded to earn her bachelors of science in nursing at the

University of Michigan-Flint. Maryissa has been a registered nurse since 2015. She started her

nursing journey at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw, Michigan caring for patients in the adult

intensive care unit. In 2019, Maryissa then found her passion when she transferred to the

pediatric floor at Covenant where she was cross-trained in general pediatric care and pediatric

intensive care. During her time caring for pediatric patients she worked with compassionate and

knowledgeable pediatric nurses, pediatricians, and pediatric intensivists who inspired her to

pursue her goal to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. Her professional interests include

educating on wellness and disease prevention, along with building relationships with families.

Maryissa lives in Central Michigan with her family. She enjoys spending time with her family and

friends, traveling, hiking, beach days, exploring new towns, and coffee shops. She also enjoys

spending weekends in Traverse City, MI.
